"Go Your Own Way" is a song written by Lindsey Buckingham and performed by British band Fleetwood Mac. It was released in late 1976, the first single from their then forthcoming Rumours (which would be released in February 1977) and peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group's first top ten hit in the U.S. It is ranked number 119 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and is on The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list. The song is about the complicated relationship that Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were having.
